LARRY SCHILLER

Owner

Larry salvaged his first item, an elevator call button plate, when he was 8 years old, and let’s just say, the architectural salvage bug bit him. Schiller Salvage began over 30 years ago as a personal collection.  Not until 2009 did Larry’s private collection turn into a business on a whim and since then he has amassed quite the assortment of architectural embellishments and antiques.

A general contractor by trade for over 30 years has allowed him the knowledge and keen eye to know when something is worth saving.  Knowing how to safely dismantle buildings is similar to the knowhow it takes to build them.  Wood flooring, fireplace mantels, hand carved doors, wrought iron railings, arched windows, stained glass, iron gates, antique brass lighting – they are always in his line of vision.  The love of the hunt and thrill of discovering a forgotten element is what keeps him going back for more.

He is still at it today salvaging and reclaiming entire homes, barns, factories, you name it, and saving antiques from dissolving into the great abyss. The eclectic and quirky array of items is constantly evolving and so is Larry -  quirky in his finds, particular in his stacking of wood, and driven in his pursuit of reclaiming.
